I Am Cait: Six things we learned from episode 2 of Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show
“There are so many hurdles to overcome,” Caitlyn Jenner says in the second episode of her reality series I Am Cait. And the next installment of the E! Show sees the 65-year-old on as much of a rollercoaster as the first as she goes from admitting she’s not yet ready to show off her body in a bathing suit to doing the “most freeing thing I’ve done in my life” on a five-day break with her new girlfriends. It’s been rumoured for weeks that Caitlyn Jenner and Candis Cayne are more than just good friends and episode two documents the early stages of their blossoming relationship. Caitlyn, 65, and her new trans girlfriends – including blonde bombshell Candis who describes herself as an “actress, showgirl and performer” – head off on a road trip to San Francisco together. As the former Olympian rifles through her wardrobe with longtime friend Ronda Kamihira to work out what to pack, Ronda teases: “You need a s**y [outfit[ for Candis.” Ronda’s daughters then ask, “Who’s Candis? ” “We’re not going there,” a blushing Caitlyn grins, “[She’s] a girl that’s going on the trip with us.”
E!Caitlyn discusses some of the challenges transgender people face, but her conservative views leave her new friends shocked. “What’s the big issue?” Caitlyn asks during their San Francisco trip. “They’re homeless and unemployed, so it’s just going to take a lot more,” Chandi replies. Someone else adds: “I think if I was to focus on one area it would be entry level jobs so that these girls have some alternative if they wanted.” But as conversation continues, Caitlyn’s views prompt some raised eyebrows. “Don’t a lot of times they can make more not working with social programs than they actually can with an entry-level job? Caitlyn says. “But you don’t want people to get totally dependent on it. That’s when they get in trouble. ‘Why should I work? Despite Caitlyn proudly showing off her transformation on the cover of Vanity Fair, the reality star admits she’s still not ready to show off her body in front of her new group of girlfriends. During their trip the former Olympian’s friends all strip down to their swimwear and get in the hot tub in the grounds of their secluded cabin. But when Caitlyn is asked if she wants to join them, the 65-year-old declines and eventually goes to bed. Caitlyn later explained why she didn’t feel ready to wear a swimsuit in a video blog, admitting: “I don’t think I’m ready for that. You have to realise these girls transitioned years and years and years ago. I just don’t know if I’m ready to expose myself like that. “Maybe down the line I’ll feel more comfortable with myself but right now I just can’t see myself doing.” Caitlyn reveals she wants vocal surgery to get a “feminine voice”

The reality star previously admitted she didn’t feel her voice matched her appearance, and she confides in one of her biggest supporters Kim Kardashian. The former Olympian tells Kim she’s considering vocal surgery, but the mum-of-one isn’t keen on the idea. “What if they made a mistake and you came out with no voice?” a shocked Kim says. During her interview with Diane Sawyer in April, Caitlyn Jenner opened up about her sexuality and revealed that she considers herself “asexual for now”. But while rumours have been circulating that Caitlyn is dating actress Candis Cayne, Caitlyn also revealed that she “appreciates the male form” in a preview clip for the next series of I Am Cait. While sitting around the table with her new group of transgender girlfriends, the group open up about their sexuality. Caitlyn, who reveals she’s still struggling with her femininity in the previous episode, says dating a man would make you feel more more feminine. “You would feel more feminine if you were with a guy,” she argues. “I can appreciate the male form.”

During their trip to San Francisco, they also visit the local Human Rights Campaign so Caitlyn can hear from real trans women and their experiences.
While at a dinner party hosted by Caitlyn, her new transgender friends all share part of their story and it acts as a real eye opener for Caitlyn.
“Caitlyn is a sweet smart good soul,” Jennifer later says. “But she has all the privilege in the world.”
The star also goes on to reveal that the trip is the “most freeing thing” she’s done in her life.
“To be with all these girls, is probably the most freeing thing I’ve done in my life.”
